Air Vergiate Flight School - Your Pilot Academy

Air Vergiate Flight School

The Air Vergiate flight school is the first school in Italy to have received EASA certification as an Approved Training Organization in 2013 (IT. ATO.0001), after having already been the first school, in 2001, to be certified as a Flight Training Organization with the JAR standard (I-FTO 001). This continuity in excellence demonstrates Air Vergiate’s commitment and constant passion in the training of future professional airplane and helicopter pilots. The history of Air Vergiate began in 1945 at Vergiate Siai Marchetti Airport as Aero Club Alessandro Passaleva di Vergiate.
In 2003 the association changed its name to Air Vergiate and in 2011 with a heterogeneous transformation from an association it became a capital company and took the current name of Air Vergiate s.r.l. Alessandro Passaleva. In the early years of the new millennium, the growing educational activity of Air Vergiate and the great development of the activity of AgustaWestland, which took over from SIAI Marchetti, at Vergiate airport implied for Air Vergiate the decision to transfer its flight activity to Biella Cerrione Airport, whose ownership in 2016 was acquired by Air Vergiate, which then named it after “Pietro Venanzi ” (Chief Test Pilot of the AW 609 program). Air Vergiate has deployed its fleet at the airport and structured its operational base: the pilots and students at the school have classrooms, briefing/debriefing classrooms, planning area, operations office and educational direction. The ownership of the airport guarantees the school full availability to organize with maximum flexibility the training activity without conditioning and limitations by other dominant users (commercial traffic, industrial activities, etc.); Operations at the airport are also free from conditioning due to higher airspace. The legal and administrative headquarters, together with the ALSIM ALX FNTP II MCC flight simulator, is located inside the Air Vergiate “Simulator Training Center” at the VOLANDIA Museum of Flight – of which Air Vergiate is a founding member; Volandia is located in the former Officine Caproni adjacent to Terminal 1 of Malpensa International Airport. The center is equipped with a classroom, meeting rooms and secretarial office; Also available to students is a great support system consisting of the historical and cultural context of the museum. The widespread presence on the territory of the Air Vergiate School facilities offers students the opportunity to organize school attendance with excellent flexibility. In 2017, Air Vergiate signed an agreement with Intesa Sanpaolo for the financing of professional flight courses, ensuring young aspiring airline pilots the possibility of accessing an excellent training course and achieving a goal in the field of work. Air Vergiate, in addition to the continuous commitment to an ever-greater quality in training, supports its students with equal commitment in the search for professional opportunities.
